MAKE PARSIPPANY YOUR DESTINATION IN FEBRUARY!

Good friends and strong competition are always good reasons for attending the World Amateur and U.S. Amateur Team East in Parsippany, NJ (February 16-18, 2013). And now there is one more good reason to put together a team.

All weekend long, there will be a display of antique chess sets in the pre-ballroom area, courtesy of renowned collector Jon Crumiller, chess set restorer Alan Dewey, and chess historian Milissa Ellison. They will give a presentation on Sunday morning, 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Chess Sets for Play in the 1800s.

Bring in your favorite set for an evaluation, akin to an Antiques Roadshow presentation, but with the help of an extensive database of recent selling prices.

That’s another good reason for making a couple of phone calls and putting together a team! If you need help, Noreen Davisson can help (see TLA). But even if you can’t play, please come and visit. We’d love to see you. And your chess set!
